This exciting episode explores the most shocking revelations from the Global Human Rights Group’s work on the report, Strengthening Girls’ Rights as Human Rights, published by Plan International. It identifies intensified backlash against girls’ and women’s sexual and reproductive health and rights, and documents how the rights of girls and women are under a coordinated, well-funded attack at the highest levels of global decision-making.
Our guests will be Claire Mahon, award-winning international human rights expert and the founder of the Global Human Rights Group, a Geneva-based consulting firm and NGO; and Julia Rowland, Human Rights Officer at the Global Human Rights Group. Guest co-host Jessica Fostekew.

It’s the show that proves you don’t have to be perfect to be a force for meaningful change. The Road to Gilead Project aims to ignite connection and action that will bring about hope and resistance against the far right.
Gilead is a pop culture shorthand from Margaret Atwood’s dystopian Handmaid’s Tale vision that we now see rising in the west. We welcome the questioning and the committed alike to come together in honest conversation about how we might form real coalitions for change and how we resist the slide towards oppression and power abuse with courage, creativity and collective joy. Expect big laughs, bold ideas and a room full of people who believe a better world is possible, even if we sometimes feel like we’re winging it.
